There have been rumours floating around the web over the past few days that Dying Light 2 might have be having some kind of event this week, and based on a press kit we've received, that's very much the case!
Techland sent us the above selection of press materials a few days ago, and shining a torch onto the included poster reveals a date of May 27 at 9PM CEST, along with the Techland Twitch channel as the destination.
No further details have been provided about what this event will entail, but it looks like the original Dying Light will also be getting a surprise 'Platinum Edition' release on the same day, based on a now-deleted Microsoft Store listing.
The press kit includes a mock letter, and here's the full wording of it:
"Hello, survivor! Remember Harran? Of course you do. But all that - that was just the beginning... Now The City is our refuge, and it needs your help. Want to know more? You will, but you'll have to hunt. I had to hide the info - this place isn't safe. Track down the clues and remember, it's all for your eyes only. This message cannot fall into the wrong hands. You're our last chance, survivor!"
Do you think we'll finally be getting a Dying Light 2 release date this week? Give us your thoughts below.

@IndoorHero Agreed. I came to DL late in the generation and never played the Dead Island games. DL is my joint favourite Zombie themed game along with the Last of Us games (maybe not zombies exactly but you know what I mean). DL had excellent sound design and music, very decent if cliched narrative and surprisingly good gameplay. Harran was very immersive imo. I loved both the base game and expansion for it's obvious differences. The PS4 generation was just epic and Dying Light is absolutely top ten for me. I sincerely hope the sequel is good. Too many open world games are doing exactly the same thing.
@IndoorHero yeah that's key. It's clearly had some development issues but a long cycle isn't a bad thing considering how many games are rushed out then rely on countless patches for several months.
