Chivalry 2 Cross-Play Open Beta Comes To Xbox Next Week

Chivalry 2 is heading onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on June 8, but for those interested, a free open-beta with cross-play is available between May 27 until June 1.

Players will be able to get a first taste of the game ahead of its full release, along with the ability to play against PC and PlayStation users. If you've got a slow download speed and want to make the most of the beta, don't worry, pre-downloading will be live a day early on May 26. It is worth noting that while the beta is free, an Xbox Live Gold membership is required to check it out.

The game has previously had closed betas, but this marks the first time anyone can jump in. As a result, new features are being introduced, previously not seen in other betas, giving players who already tried the game another incentive to revisit. This includes a new maps, a free-for-all game mode, full customisation, and a variety of server options.

Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer first-person slasher inspired by epic medieval movie battles. Players are thrust into the action of every iconic moment of the era from clashing swords and storms of flaming arrows to sprawling castle sieges, and more. Dominate massive battlefields while catapults tear the earth apart as players lay siege to castles, set fire to villages, and slaughter filthy peasants in the return of Team Objective maps.

Returning features include team objectives, previous maps, and modes such as team deathmatch. The medieval war simulator is packing a lot of content in its free beta and should give you a good indication on whether the game is for you. If it is, then there's not long to wait, as we're only a few weeks away from the full launch!
