Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered has been available since late last year and now EA has updated the game, complete with Xbox Series X enhancements.
As part of its February update, which also comes bundled with a new wrap editor, next-gen is also getting a boost (no pun intended) with some slick visual upgrades. Xbox Series X owners can expect to find the game running at a native 4K resolution at 60 frames per-second going forward. The Xbox One X is also being upgraded to 4K, with an uncapped frame rate of 50+ FPS. Strangely, there’s no word on the Xbox Series S version, but we’ll keep you updated if we hear anything.
“And if you’re on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X we’ve got some additional slick-looking news for you: downloading this update will improve your resolution and performance to 4K/60FPS. PlayStation®4 Pro and Xbox One X players will also see a boost in visual fidelity with 4K/uncapped 50+ FPS.”
Along with this, the wrap editor allows players to customise their cars in new ways. Much like Need For Speed Heat, a variety of pre-made wraps can be applied to vehicles, or you can even make your own. It’s going to make burning rubber against opponents online even more interesting, as you show off your snazzy new colours.

So it seems to be possible for Series S to output the game render resolution & framerate to 4K60 without 4K/high resolution textures, given the claim by EA that the game can run at 4K uncapped 50+ fps on PS4 Pro. Though both systems are different devices with different SDKs & development environtment so it's not that simple. 1440p60 is more likely and also very possible.
The enhancements sound good, though I’m gonna wait for the game to come to GP/EA play.
