The psychological horror game The Medium was only released this week and has already made enough sales to cover its production and marketing costs.
This information comes directly from the game's developer Bloober Team via a polish press release:
"sales of the game 'The Medium' have reached a level that covered the costs of production and marketing of the game"
The Medium is Bloober Team's biggest ever production in the history of the company. It's available on Xbox X|S, PC and is also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Is this digital only?
Congrats to them. I love this game completed 100% on first night. Not scary at all but overwhelmed with the story. Minor graphic glitches but lasted no more than couple seconds. I’m happy they’ve done well wish it was a little longer than 6hours though.
@__jamiie I think all Bloober games are digital only.
The non-redix version of Observer and Layers of Gear did get physycal releases by Limited Run Games. Blair Witch also got a physycal release but that was not self-published.

@WCB they could also relase story expansion through DLC, this would be way faster. I've finished it in two play times 3 hours each. I want more The Medium, it's a great game.

@Steel76 I know, I am simply mocking the criticism that Game Pass is bad for the market.
The Medium was not very good imo, but it did have a nicely different feel about it. I'd like to see what Bloober could do with more of a focus on gameplay as they've nailed the "atmosphere" aspect. Great Gamepass title.

Oh nice! I’ve been playing and enjoying it over the weekend. Enjoying the story, the gameplays simple but the atmosphere is spot on.
Well done blooper, with a bigger budget I’d like to see what they can achieve as all their games have been a little rough so far.
