MLB The Show on Xbox?! For years, serious MLB fans have been forced to pick up a PlayStation in order to enjoy Sony's critically-acclaimed baseball series, but there's a good chance it might be coming to Xbox this year.
In case you don't remember, the MLB signed a new deal with Sony back in December 2019 that confirmed the game would be coming "to additional console platforms beyond PlayStation platforms as early as 2021."
Flash forward to January 2021, and while we still don't have any concrete news on this as of yet, the official MLB The Show Twitter account recently confirmed that it will have more news to share in February on its latest game.
It certainly looks as though MLB The Show has a good chance of arriving on Xbox this year for the first time in the series' 15-year history, but we're going to have to wait just a few more weeks to find out for sure.

That'd be pretty neat if true. I haven't played a baseball game since I had a PS2.
One of the few sports titles that is excellent every year.
Finally xbox will have a game critics are obligated to praise and give 10s to!
Now if only Sony would give us a sunset overdrive 2. They'll probably get TES, Doom and Fallout so all's fair.
@uptownsoul I have absolutely no interest in baseball or baseball videogames and even I know that The Show is consistently lauded.
Been playing The Show for years on PS, glad Xbox only gamers will get access.
I’ll probably still pick it up on PS as I bet Sony keeps it a bit better quality than other versions.
Never understood why they'd keep a sports license like MLB exclusive to one console. All the major sports and American football are multi platform to appeal to as many as possible. Sony must've paid quite a bit for exclusivity over a fair period.
I cant wait. Been waiting for this since they announced it.
The only PS exclusive that I play that isn't a 3rd person action-adventure. I'll continue to buy it on PS though, as all of my baseball friends are on PS, not Xbox. Still, that's good news.
@uptownsoul It's whose, not who's.
@BeautyandtheBeer So, it wasn't exclusivity paid by Sony, it's just a first party Sony studio and no one else was making MLB games. 2K used to and even had exclusive rights for 3rd party MLB games, but stopped making them because they weren't making money off them. (Because they weren't very good, imo) The last year they made it, it was quite literally a menu and roster update.
@Darthroseman Ah okay that explains it thanks, still a weird situation.
@Darthroseman
Yup, the 2K games were hot garbage. The Show really carried on the good things from EA’s MVP series that ended in 05.
I’m shocked MLB didn’t remedy the situation years ago as I have to think it is in their best interest to have the best sim available on all consoles.
I hope I am wrong, but I think The Show 2021 will not be for XBox. Maybe next year (The Show 2022). They are already wicked behind schedule, as we normally see pre-orders up around october/november timeframe and would already know the cover player.
With this being truly a next-gen 1st year for The Show, we should be inundated with trailers and graphics overload. But we have had heard nothing at all. And only now we hear about news/update in February? Ouch.
I think they must still release for PS, but I think anything Xbox will have to wait. I think Pandemic really put a wrench in the works. But then again the announcement in 2019 was "as early as 2021". So it wasn't set in stone then.
Yes I would like to see it coming to Xbox I am a big fan of baseball games
