The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch lineup has added another title today in the form of No Man's Sky, which is getting a huge "Next Generation" update for the new platforms.
The update, which will be entirely free for existing owners, will add a bunch of new features including fuller worlds, improved visuals, vast base building, improved loading times, and cross-generation play.
No Man's Sky: Next Generation will run at 60FPS on both systems (at 4K on Xbox Series X), and for the first time on console, up to 32 players will be able to join forces to build, survive, fight, and explore the galaxy together in multiplayer.
Looking forward to this? Tell us what you think of the trailer below.

Free upgrade for existing “owners” - I assume this includes people that have it on Game Pass?
I really looked forward playing this on Game Pass. Then I did, and instead of discovering planets, you have to find buckets of ice-breath-thingies (?) to keep yourself alive in the first minutes.
Deinstalled it.
@Nightcrawler71 They haven't mentioned a non-upgraded version, so yes.
@Bartig The game has a Creative mode free of the survival nonsense. It removes all other challenges too, unfortunately. But if you enjoy discovery and base-building you might still like the game. For me, the main problem is that the wildlife are so redundant.
I only recently uninstalled it. But I might reinstall if I can get a Series X.
I stopped playing it on Xbox because of the glitched textures on basically everything. Been playing it on ps4 instead where the base version looked much better than Xbox One. Hopefully the S version won't have glitched textures.
@Bartig This was added in the update. It is because everyone was staring on the first pla st and never leaving. Within the first hour though you should have a ship, flying off the planet. Where you can find a non hostile world to live on until you decide to move.
Does this game have cross save feature? I have it for PC but I'm curious if my progress will go over to the Gamepass version for Xbox.
