Developer Moon Studios announced during today's Xbox Games Showcase livestream that Ori and the Will of the Wisps is getting enhanced for Xbox Series X, supporting 4K visuals and 120 frames per-second.
In the announcement video, which you can watch above, it was explained that the new Xbox Series X version will "deliver unprecedented game feel with silky smooth animation, super crisp sharp image, and low input latency which is just so important for the tight and precise platforming of this game."
Furthermore, the team also says it can use premium audio tech to increase immersion.
The Optimized for Xbox Series X version of Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be available on Xbox Series X this Holiday, and will support Smart Delivery so you can upgrade from Xbox One at no extra charge.
Excited to play Ori and the Will of the Wisps at 120fps? Let us know in the comments.

Looking forward to replaying this in 120fps and many other games in the backlog and gamepass upgraded and Loading fast.
I'll be buying a new TV at the same time as my Series X/PS5.
Guess it's gonna need HDMI 2.1
Oh and on the subject of Ori. I just found out that Gareth Coker, the man behind Ori's seminal soundtrack, is working on Halo Infinite. Massive news 😍
Isn’t this game already 4k on the X1X?
@Medic_Alert they didn’t open with an Xbox one game, though. Also: Sony opened with a PS3/360 game. Just saying.
@Medic_Alert I guess I can see that. I did expect all the “optimized” and “dlc” announcements to come in the pre-show or as a montage dump trailer at the end, just before the One More Thing.
We do know they will have a follow up announcement, some “insiders” already noted ahead of time some big guns would be held back to counter any future follow-up Sony event (and they have one soon.) Scorn launches this year and we have not seen any gameplay. We practically know Perfect Dark is being held back as a sort of mic drop. And that is just one of the missing studios that didn’t get any coverage today.
As someone that loves Far Cry, I feel Halo infinite is going to be one of my favorite games ever.
One thing to note, though: Destiny 2 might be free, but the DLC sure is not. The big deal there, for fans of that series, is that all DLC will be on GamePass.
My TV is from 2011. No 4K, no HDR, no 120fps. Even if I upgraded the TV, my receiver doesn't support HDMI 2.1.
So yeah...120fps is useless to me and probably will be for a long time. 4K at least gives me super-sampled visuals.
Great game, though!
Does anyone have first-hand experience of 120fps gaming? Is there a noticeable (for an ordinary person) difference to 60fps?
@Medic_Alert
It's precisely this next-gen machine that makes 120fps gameplay possible. Why wouldn't they talk about it at their next-gen showcase?
@Medic_Alert
GTA5 new? 😏
