The creator of Minecraft has announced that it's changing its name from Mojang to Mojang Studios. The company revealed this in a news post on its website, unveiling a new name, logo and a few exciting teases in honour of Minecraft's 11th birthday.

The reason for the change is two-fold - the first is simply to allow the company to reinvent itself, while the new name specifically serves to incorporate the studios around the world that are all part of Mojang.

Furthermore, the company hinted at some of its upcoming projects following the completion of Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons, the latter of which is coming to Xbox Game Pass later this month.

"Following Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons, we’re planning a feature film, preparing an epic live show, and playing with ideas for brand new games."
