No Plans To Put Final Fantasy XIV On Xbox Game Pass, Says Dev

Back in November last year, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer commented that nine Final Fantasy games were coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2020, and later addressed MMO Final Fantasy XIV, indicating that while it wasn't in the list, "rest assured, we will bringing that game to Xbox".

In a recent interview with Twinfinite, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida shed more light on Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox, highlighting that Phil Spencer is "very dedicated" in his quest to bring the title to the platform. However, he says he hasn't considered adding the game to Xbox Game Pass due to it being a "subscription-model game".

In a follow-up, Yoshida noted that he hopes "one day, Phil and I can stand shoulder to shoulder and create an opportunity for gamers around the world to enjoy FFXIV even more."
