You might be aware that you can activate idle mode on Xbox One by heading to the system settings and selecting how long you want the console to wait until dimming the screen. But something you might not know is that there's actually a much quicker and easier way to do it.
To speed things up, hold down the home button on the controller and wait until the shutdown options appear. Then, hit the X button, and the system will instantly go into an idle state.
This isn't an overly useful feature for the majority of Xbox One owners, but for those who want to protect their OLED TVs against burn-in, which is where image retention can occur after leaving a screen idle on high brightness, it's definitely worth keeping in mind. Especially when it's this easy!
