Earlier this month, prominent YouTuber and Twitter leaker TheGamingRevolution claimed that various Activision games were in the works, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. Artwork leaked for the game earlier this week, suggesting it was to be unveiled in the near future.
Following that leak, the Twitter user went on to suggest a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was also in the pipeline. Here's what they had to say:

Again, all we can do for now is take this with a pinch of salt. But considering their track record, there's every chance we may see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Remastered in the future. For now, let's just get Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered out of the way, shall we?
Do you want to see a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Let us know in the comments.

Not surprising. Now that pretty much is proof that MW2R exists the rumormill needs something else to talk about so it makes perfect sense the it would be a MW3 remaster.
If only they would remaster BO and BO2.
COD has been pumping one yearly games for so long now that I'm kinda shocked it took them so long to finally start doing this.
I wish they'd take the time to make a COD game on Switch. Now a port but just one, good, built for the system COD title. Even if just as a hook to try and pull back old fans who burnt out years ago but might be inclined to give it another spin.
I know they did one on Wii U and it kinda flopped but I think that was more the Wii U's fault than anything else.
A good COD on a portable system would be pretty sweet.
I need to get around the playing the COD4 remaster.
@Heavyarms55 The should just bring over CoD Mobile to the Switch it would be so easy to do.
As for the Wii U it had Black Ops 2 which by many is considered one of the best entries in the series.
The MW games were always the best COD games, so it’s kinda cool to get these remasters. But it just shows that Activision has very little in the way of new ideas for their limited amount of IPs they own or their want to create a new IP.
@Tasuki I'd really rather they not. I don't like mobile games and don't want that practice of mobile games on Switch to get the boost that such a big name would bring. I'd much rather have them build a game for the Switch.
