Update (Thu 12th May, 2022): Little bit of sad news to report, but nothing too drastic! Deliver Us The Moon's free Xbox Series X and S upgrade will no longer be releasing on May 19th, with the new date set as June 23rd. The reason for this is to provide additional development time and a final layer of polish.

"The astronomical project requires additional development time to prepare the definitive version of the game, allowing for a final polish before we prepare for lift off."

Original story (Tue 29th Mar, 2022): We've got another free upgrade on the way to Xbox Series X and Series S soon in the form of sci-fi epic Deliver Us The Moon, which takes off for next-gen consoles on May 19th. The sequel, Deliver Us Mars, was announced last week.

This version of Deliver Us The Moon offers "fully remastered out-of-this-world 4K visuals", ray-traced shadows and reflections, and faster loading times. If you don't own it already, it'll retail (digital-only) for £19.99 / $24.99.

If you've heard of it but you don't know why, Deliver Us The Moon used to be on Xbox Game Pass, and we highlighted it last year as a "pretty epic (and lonely) space adventure." It hasn't been on the service for almost a year now, however.

Here's what the game's developer, KeokeN Interactive, had to say in a press release:

“We are proud to bring Deliver Us The Moon to next-gen platforms and enable a whole load of new astronauts to get their hands on the game. The new additions to the game are absolutely stellar and I think fans and newcomers alike will be over the moon with the changes.
