Microsoft Throws Shade At Activision In Response To Tony Hawk Issues On Xbox Series X

Update: Good news! Activision confirmed to Eurogamer earlier today that it was "aware" of the issues and "working to fix," and it looks like a patch has now been pushed out which solves the problem. Fingers crossed!

Original Story: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 has got off to a very rough start on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S thus far, with consistent reports of crashing from the main menu, and no sign of a fix for the issues as of yet.

Eurogamer reached out to Microsoft (and Activision) for a response on this, and from Microsoft's perspective, the company used the opportunity to subtly highlight that Smart Delivery would have possibly solved the issue:

"Smart Delivery is available to all Xbox developers and publishers. Our partners have the freedom to choose whether to implement the tech based on what they determine is best for their individual games. For questions about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, please reach out to Activision directly."

If you didn't know, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 for Xbox Series X and S doesn't use Smart Delivery due to being a paid upgrade, and so the game works entirely separately to the Xbox One version, not benefiting from that tech.

It seems pretty crazy that Activision hasn't even issued a formal statement on the crashing problems at the time of writing, as loads of fans have been reporting these issues, but we're assuming we'll hear something relatively soon.

What do you make of this statement from Microsoft? Let us know down in the comments below.
