Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Xbox One)

We're going to take every opportunity we can to talk about this absolutely phenomenal game. Added at the beginning of December, Dragon Quest XI instantly resonated with us through its beautiful world and perfect JRPG combat system. Everything about the world feels alive with vibrancy, from its expressive characters, to small, touching character moments. It's also a lengthy adventure, too, offering upwards of a hundred hours of content. Definitely not one to be missed.

Forza Horizon 4 (Xbox One)

If you're looking to get out the house and take a Sunday drive, you might be saddened to know you can't during the current global crisis. Thankfully, Forza Horizon 4 steps up to the mark with an absolutely breathtaking representation of Britain. From the gorgeous landscapes, to the dreadful weather, it all merges together in a dynamic way, coupled with thrilling racers and other events to take part in. With additional expansions featuring licenses from companies such as LEGO, it's a perfect way to reign in the New Year.

Gears 5 (Xbox One)

We're sure you're well aware of Gears 5's presence on Xbox Game Pass at this point, but you might not be aware that it's been heavily updated ever since the arrival of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S this past November, with massively improved visuals on the next-gen consoles, and new features across all versions of the game. The highlight? Gears 5: Hivebusters, which is a brand-new single-player campaign that is completely free to download if you're an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member. Definitely check it out!

Golf With Your Friends (Xbox One)

Golf With Your Friends is a really simple mini-golf game you can play either locally or online, and we've found ourselves constantly returning to it over the past few months. It's packed with loads of great courses (including a couple based on The Escapists and Worms), along with a selection of modes and cosmetics, and the best part about it is that anyone pick up a controller and get involved, as it's really simple to play. It's the sort of game you can enjoy without having to concentrate too much, but it can also get really competitive.

KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.52.5 ReMIX (Xbox One)

You might not be aware, but the entire Xbox One collection of Kingdom Hearts games is available on Xbox Game Pass, and if you've yet to experience this Square Enix and Disney crossover, Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is the place to start. You'll find the first game from 2002 in this package, enhanced in HD, along with its sequel and various other spinoffs. You could just jump to Kingdom Hearts III if you want to play the latest game in the series, but keep in mind that its story will almost certainly go right over your head!
