Update (Thu 5th Nov, 2020 16:15 GMT): You might remember this story from last week, where we shared that a job listing at EA Motive had referenced the developer making a "new Star Wars action game."
Unfortunately, it turns out this speculation was the product of "human error" on the part of the developer, with Motive explaining that it isn't making a new Star Wars game, but nevertheless has something "special" in the works.
Original story (Fri 30th Oct, 2020 11:00 GMT): EA Motive, the studio behind Star Wars: Squadrons, recently posted a new job listing for a software developer that makes reference to a "new Star Wars action game" which the team is "already working on."
The job listing states that the team is "starting immediately" on the game, and EA Motive recently confirmed that it's working on "several unannounced projects", telling fans that it's "striving to make aspirational games that push the boundaries of what players expect now and into the future."
Back in June, during EA Play, Motive showed off a very short snippet of a "highly ambitious and innovative" next-generation title, but no further details have been provided about it just yet.
If we hear any further developments, we'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, tell us - what type of Star Wars game would you like to see from Motive next? Did you enjoy Squadrons? Tell us below.

Hmmm squadrons was surprisingly enjoyable. Combined with Jedi Fallen Order and the turned around Battlefront 2 EA have actually started to do good by the Star Wars license.
I'd like to see Motive maybe go down the Rogue Squadron route, so less x-wing/tie fighter space style and more arcadey with planets and the like (like Rogue Squadron and Rogue Leader)
Looking back at the "highly ambitious" link from June and now knowing the Mandalorian series affinity for jet packs, I wonder...
I’d love another one like Fallen Order, not yet finished it so I don’t know how the story concludes but maybe a prequel would be good.
I know the Mandalorian is popular but how awesome would it be to have a Boba Fett game where you're a Bounty Hunter and you have to chase down some scum of the universe? They could make it just a bounty hunter guild game where you can pick your character vs just being Fett (why you wouldn't play as him i don't know). There's a lot of lore they can tap into and it would be great not being a good guy. He's kinda like Venom...not bad.....but definitely not a hero either. Space battles in Slave 1, flame thrower and a freaking jet pack!
@Krzzystuff that would be awesome. Almost like a Star Wars crossed with the Hitman games, not sure if that was what you was thinking but it’s what came to my head
I'm sure it will be very mediocre with some fancy graphics and lots of micro-transactions.
