Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion Card Listed For $219.99 At Best Buy

Update: Microsoft has confirmed that the Seagate 1TB Storage Expansion Card is priced at £219.99 in the UK and €249.99 in Europe. It's now available to pre-order from the Microsoft Store with a November 10th release date.

Original story: Brace yourselves... the Seagate 1TB Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S will indeed be as expensive as rumoured, with Best Buy now listing the device for pre-order at a whopping $219.99 USD.

If you're unaware, the idea behind the card is to provide additional storage space for the two systems with the same speed and power of the internal drive, which allows it to run next-gen games. According to The Verge, more suppliers and additional sizes for these cards will also be available in the future.

Fortunately, there are other ways to expand your storage if you can't afford one of these. Microsoft has confirmed that you can still store Xbox Series X|S games on normal USB external hard-drives (you just can't play them from there), meaning it'll just be a case of swapping games to and from the internal SSD when you need them.

And of course, you'll still be able to play all your compatible Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles off an external hard drive with no issues, so that'll help save on internal storage space as well.

How do you feel about the price of these? Planning on getting one? Let us know in the comments.
