Activision and Treyarch have today pulled back the curtain on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, revealing more details on its story, characters and gameplay features.

As detailed in the video above, the four-person co-op mode features a new narrative focused around a CIA-backed international response team called Requiem (led by Grigori Weaver from the original Black Ops), set in the early 80s and taking place on the new map "Die Maschine", in which the team explores an old World War II bunker.

Zombies is also packed with some major feature changes, including cross-play between platforms and generations for the first time in its history, unified progression, reimagined Zombie Perks and more.

"What’s canon is canon, but... with Black Ops Cold War, Zombies is starting fresh with a new narrative and a – shall we say, new? – cast of characters. The mode includes new ways to progress, classic fan-favorite Perks, and an arsenal of Cold War weaponry that will help survivors dominate the legions of undead."

You'll be able to get hands-on with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in just a couple of weeks via the game's multiplayer beta, with the full version arriving for Xbox One on November 13th and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
