We haven't seen much official footage of the Xbox Series S since it was announced last week, but Codemasters has now revealed some gameplay of its upcoming racer Dirt 5 running on the system.
The video shows off the "rock bouncer" taking on a challenging Path Finder event in Italy, and you can bump up the visuals to 1440p at 60 frames per-second on YouTube to see this version of the game in all its glory.
Interestingly, Codemasters has noted that a 120 frames per-second option will be included with Dirt 5 for "even more immersive gameplay", but will be seemingly exclusive to just the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions.

At this point, I think we’ve seen more footage of stuff running on an actually Series S than X. Don’t get me wrong, I just think it’s funny XD
That's got to be low settings... the textures are not nice at all.....
@TheNewButler Usual compression artifacts from Youtube’s horrible processing.
@Z3u5000 No I don't think so. Look at the detail on the buildings, it just isn't there.
Obvious caveat that it might just be an ugly game and needs to be compared to other versions but appears to lack detail
One of my most anticipated games this year, looks great!
@TheNewButler There are details on the car. Check back again after the post-processing or I’m sure it’s just this Dirt 5 map. The other map looks impressive.

Yeah, I doubt we will see many 120fps games on the Series S.
@Z3u5000 I know there are details on the car. It would appear they are being selective with which textures to reduce in quality and I'd say they have chosen the right ones to reduce in quality.
But it would appear that there will indeed be some trade offs for the Xbox S and I'm interested to see how each game is handled.
@TheNewButler True comparison can only happen when you have both versions running side-by-side. I'm gonna wait for Digital Foundry comparisons.
This might be a daft question, but won’t playing in 120fps require a display capable of such a high refresh rate? I’d imagine most don’t go any higher than 60fps, so surely the appeal of the higher frame rate will be a bit limited?
As for the gameplay here, I think it looks fun - and I agree with the first post, it’s amusing to note that we’re seeing more demos running on S than X at the moment...
So what do y’all think? 4K 120fps or 1440p 120fps for the Series X? I think they would not stop bragging about it they could achieve that frame rate at 4K. I really don’t we will see many 4K/120 games for the first year or so.
That said; I’m really looking forward to this game! The footage last week of the ice race at night with all the confetti looked really good!
