NHL 21 is officially coming to Xbox One on October 16th, and EA has today shared a first look at the game via a reveal trailer showcasing its cover star - the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin.

So, what's on the way? NHL 21 will feature a brand-new Be a Pro experience giving you the chance to live the live of an NHL player, on and off the ice - "impress the front office, go early on draft day, and chase greatness as you earn your spot on the first line, compete for the Stanley Cup, and become the league’s next best."

In terms of gameplay, EA says that it has made "massive improvements" on both sides of the puck, including introducing a variety of new skill moves. Ultimate Team has also received a new feature in the form of a style-focused HUT Rush mode, while Ranked Seasons arrives in World of Chel, allowing you to compete across each of the four modes to earn rewards and play in the new EASHL Club Finals.

NHL 21 is available to pre-order now from the Microsoft Store with multiple editions available, and EA Play members will also be able to lace up their skates slightly early with a trial from October 9.
