Developer Asobo Studios has revealed that the highly-anticipated Microsoft Flight Simulator will be moving into a closed beta phase on July 30th, with new invitations scheduled to be sent out.
This will remain on PC only for now, although the game is scheduled to come to Xbox One and seemingly Xbox Series X when it eventually releases as well, and will also be available with Xbox Game Pass.
Asobo Studios says that all current alpha testers will automatically be granted access to the closed beta when it releases, while it will be "sending out new invitations" for everyone else. We're assuming more information about this will be provided nearer the time, so we'll let you know more in due course!

I'm not a huge flight sim guy but I can't wait for this! It looks so good.
@FraserG It’s a technological marvel, with 2 Petabyte of map, real time weather, ultra scale terrain graphics...it’s a realistic open world notched up or scaled up way higher than anything on the market.
@FraserG Same here, I actually can't say I'm much a fan of any "simulator" game out there. However, this game here does grab my interest and I will be giving it a shot once it comes out.
I wish the same level of detail could go into a train simulator
