Update (Tue 28th Jul, 2020 12:00 BST): In less than 24 hours, the game has already smashed its console stretch goal! It looks like this one is definitely coming to Xbox Series X in a couple of years...
Original story (Mon 27th Jul, 2020 18:10 BST): Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the new spiritual successor to classic JRPG Suikoden, has got off to a great start with its Kickstarter campaign, amassing hundreds of thousands of dollars just a few hours after going live.
The game is a a brand new, high quality JRPG from Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I&II) and Junko Kawano (Suikoden I&IV), in their first collaboration in 25 years. It's not scheduled to release until late 2022, but that hasn't stopped it from enjoying a fantastically successful crowdfunding campaign so far:

And in case you're wondering - yes, there is a plan for an Xbox version! The game is targeting a PC release with a stretch goal of Xbox Series X, PS5 and possibly more platforms, but it's pretty much a guarantee at this point that it will meet that goal, so it looks nailed-on for a next-gen release in a couple of years' time.

I love that trailer, it was awesome. I think the game may have crashed Kickstarter, it was already at 450k at 10 am and it went live an hour ago. I’m really hoping this one doesn’t fall into limbo.
Yes, people have definitely been waiting for a new Suikoden game since forever. 😄
Hey, it's that "Symphony of the Night guy"!

Awesome, loved the first one on PS1. Pretty sure I finished it years ago. Good game. Wonder who owns the rights to that series?
@TheDragonsMouth Pretty sure it’s Konami
This looks delightful.
Console goal unlocked

Oh, joy! 🎉🎊🙌
@mousieone Oh that’s right, I forgot about that. The company that sits on its dearth of IP’s and not do anything with them. LOL
@TheDragonsMouth you’ve heard of them I see
