Update (Tue 28th Jul, 2020 12:00 BST): In less than 24 hours, the game has already smashed its console stretch goal! It looks like this one is definitely coming to Xbox Series X in a couple of years...

Original story (Mon 27th Jul, 2020 18:10 BST): Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the new spiritual successor to classic JRPG Suikoden, has got off to a great start with its Kickstarter campaign, amassing hundreds of thousands of dollars just a few hours after going live.

The game is a a brand new, high quality JRPG from Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I&II) and Junko Kawano (Suikoden I&IV), in their first collaboration in 25 years. It's not scheduled to release until late 2022, but that hasn't stopped it from enjoying a fantastically successful crowdfunding campaign so far:

And in case you're wondering - yes, there is a plan for an Xbox version! The game is targeting a PC release with a stretch goal of Xbox Series X, PS5 and possibly more platforms, but it's pretty much a guarantee at this point that it will meet that goal, so it looks nailed-on for a next-gen release in a couple of years' time.
