The development for terrifying first-person horror game Scorn began back in 2014, and it received its first teaser trailer a couple of years later in 2016. Developer Ebb Software says it's "designed around the idea of being thrown into the world," featuring non-linear gameplay design, and locations with their own story, puzzles and characters ("even the unsettling environment is a character itself").

The game is an Xbox Series X console exclusive (also coming to Windows Store), and will run at 4K resolution and 60fps on the system. It's also been announced as coming to Xbox Game Pass.

"Scorn is set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of "being thrown into the world". Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. Every location contains its own theme, puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world."
