If you own Sea of Thieves (or you have it via Xbox Game Pass), you can now download its latest free update entitled "Ships of Fortune". It was released a few hours ago, and features a host of major new additions for the game, including an overhauled arena mode and a new emissary system. Oh, and cats!

You can see a taste of the emissary system in the video above, which promises to have a big impact on the game, and introduces a brand-new trading company in the form of the Reaper's Bones. In an interview with Eurogamer, executive producer Joe Neate described it as "the biggest change-up to our sandbox and to our progression system since we've launched really."

You'll find the full release notes for the latest update over at the official Sea of Thieves website, which includes a selection of gameplay improvements and fixed issues. The update is a 6.8GB download on Xbox One, and 11.42GB on Xbox One X and Windows 10.
