It's been almost a year and a half since Battlefield V first launched for Xbox One, and EA has now revealed the game will be getting its final standalone update in the summer, featuring new content, weapons and game tweaks. The company says it's targeting a June release for this update.
It won't be the end for Battlefield V after that, however, as EA still plans to support the game with weekly rewards, special events and activities, and Community Games updates. It also says it will continue to combat against cheaters, assuring fans it's "constantly fighting the battle".
As for what's next for the Battlefield franchise, we're still very much in the dark for now. However, it's been confirmed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen that Battlefield 6 is on the way, and is currently targeting a release date of somewhere between April 2021 and March 2022 (thanks VGC).

This game got better in spite of EA's desire to kneecap it before it had even been released.
Got to love all those new content great things.
I always enjoy d this game but being that it's WWII it's no surprised. Still it's been 2 years now so it's time for a new BF, especially with the next gen consoles on the horizon.
I still play this from time to time but for the next game in the series I want it to be set in the modern era like BF4. I miss strapping C4s to quad bikes then bailing out as it rolls into a tank before detonating them 😆
