2K Games has announced a brand-new WWE game coming later this year called WWE 2K Battlegrounds. The game, which is being developed by NBA 2K Playgrounds developer Saber Interactive, will be released in Fall 2020, and will feature "arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves".
We’re focusing on social pick-up-and-play fun, but with plenty of depth for those who want to get way into it. Whether you’re a casual gamer just learning the ropes or a passionate fan ready for all the action, WWE 2K Battlegrounds provides another way to enjoy WWE video game action.
The company also confirmed the cancellation of WWE 2K21 for this year, noting that the team wants to bring a "renewed focus on quality and fun" to the series' next simulation game. For now, 2K says the WWE 2K19 servers will remain live following fan feedback. Furthermore, industry veteran Patrick Gilmore (who was previously studio head at Amazon Games) has been hired as Executive Producer, and will be overseeing WWE 2K development.

Seems a bit to cartoonish for me, I was hoping for a Here Comes The Pain Remaster..
@Bmartin001 I'd love a HCTP remaster, but this looks a cool alternative! I really like NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 as well.
I said this over on Push Square but I hope that netherealm make a console version of their WWE mobile game that plays like a console fighter in the style of mortal Kombat and Injustice. The designs from that game are really cool but I doubt this idea is even on the table for them
@ralphdibny It's because 2K has the contract for console WWE games. While I agree with you sadly Netherealms game can't come to console for that reason.
2K just needs to stop and give the WWE license to someone who cares.
@FraserG @Bmartin001 They couldn't do a remaster due to the fact that most of the.roster doesn't even work for WWE anymore. And then of course their is the fact that Jimmy SuperFly Snuka is in the game.
