Those intrepid devils over at NeoGAF have turned up the first image of the much-ballyhooed Xbox One Slim, ahead of Microsoft's E3 Conference tomorrow.
The new console - called the Xbox One S - will be available in (at least) white, with a black base. The machine is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One, will come with a 2TB internal drive, support 4k video off the bat and - in a surprising move - will come with a vertical stand.

There's no price for the device as yet - that will doubtless be announced at the conference, along with more details - but there is mention of a "streamlined controller." What that means is anyone's guess...
We'll bring you the full breakdown just as soon as we have it.

The S stands for "sexy". I love it, may even trade up.
I don't like white. Other than that it looks good.
If they don't do any updates for the Xbox one
Euro fishing could keep me holding on
Guess its time to get a xbox one! Been waiting to get one, and kind of happy I put it off till this.
Looks like a normal XB1 - just thinner! I will wait for the Scorpio!!! Already have a 5TB external and will use the Neo for 4k streaming and better visuals/frame rate in games!!
Damn! I like this. Too bad I'm a poor college student.
The only downside to me buying every console at launch. Always a better model down the road... 2TB!! Nice!!
I hate white, I bought every console at launch or around that launch frame window, started w/my dad picked up 2 N.E.S's at release one for him, other for me, he probably throught 'This would be a great bonding item (father & son)'
Other than that i don't care for 4K but w/e.
Still looks like an 80's VCR but smaller. Still I really like the white look. Now to start saving for it.
I think MS pulled the rug from Sony on this. You get your 4K video right out of the gate, nobody is going to be wondering if this new model will split the fanbase as far as games and if I was a betting man I'd have money on it going to retail for $300. It also means the Scorpio is likely 'Xbox Two' which is great news to me. Meanwhile Sony is going to be stuck with a console that is clearly dividing the fanbase (one that is already fractured thanks to the existence of a useless VR headset which I believe is a big part of the reason for the 'Neo') because people are concerned about how games on the base model will hold up. It's also likely to retail for $400, possibly more, and is going to be costing Sony a pretty nice chunk of change. If MS goes the route I think it's going, Sony is going to look very stupid. I'm not one of those who's worried about the Neo making my current PS4 obsolete but I do think for the amount of money likely being spent by a company that still isn't in a great financial situation, this is a bad move. Should've just made a PS4 slim with 4K video/streaming, at least a 1TB harddrive (though frankly, even 2TB doesn't cut it these days), sent it to shelves this year for $300-$350 and made the 'Neo' the PS5 set for a 2018 launch. Now MS can possibly get the jump on 4K compatibility if Sony's new hardware doesn't hit the market this year and regardless of when both are out, you know Sony's system will be $400+, MS is going to easily be able to undercut that and can still play up the 4K. Tomorrow is going to be very interesting and I think we're going to see a shift in media bias (similar to what we saw in 2013 when everybody went from pro-MS to pro-Sony) which will in turn swing gamers over to MS' side. Unless I'm missing something, at least in North America this is a brilliant strategic move. Not sure how this will effect Europe yet, but there's no excuse for MS not to be performing better there than it has. Maybe a cheaper, 4K-compatible Xbox One shifts momentum.
And this isn't even taking into account the games MS will have this holiday. Gears 4 is a definite, wouldn't be surprised to see Dead Rising 4 along with it. Sony has dominated the first part of the year but for the all-important holidays will be a no-show again, unless you're hyped for a long overdue PS3 game and think VR is actually worth a damn and worth the price of admission for a few nonsense mini-games.
@Gamer83 I admire your optimism! Lets see if it all comes true later today
Totally with you on the VR front... seems like everyone is clamouring for this as if it's the second coming. I've tried it and it's not for me. Ironically I got a lot more enjoyment out of 3D which has since flopped. Uncharted and Batman were terrific in 3D. VR just makes me (literally) want to vomit...
@Gamer83
I agree with what you said. Microsoft could really turn things around with a killer conference.
And on the topic of the article.....that is one sexy box. I will be getting it whenever it gets released.
My Xbox One literally died just the other day, so I may have to consider getting this...
@stylon
I get motion sickness from time to time so VR is definitely not going to be much of a consideration. I'll try it but you aren't the first one who's told me VR is not impressive. I think it'll have a market but Sony is banking on it far too much, imo.
@stylon @Gamer83 I think that VR will be the next 3D and it doesn't hold any interest for me. When there is more details of AR (like the Hololens type stuff) around, I think that will be more interesting.
@Gamer83 @crippyd
Like you guys said, I have no interest in VR right now. I don't like the idea of not being able to see what's going on around me (in real life) as I would use it. I understand that is the point, but I don't think I'd like that feeling.
I like laying/sitting on my couch with my feet up just playing games on my TV. I don't want cords everywhere. I like to kick back & relax when I play games. Plus, as others have said, the software is extremely lacking right now.
