Phil Spencer has confirmed that the first 100 Xbox 360 games to be added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list will be announced on November 9th, a few days before the service is launched alongside the new Xbox One dashboard.

Spencer confirmed the date in a Tweet to a user earlier today;-

As it stands, 25 titles are currently available to Preview Program members, with another batch heavily rumoured to be joining the club on November 12th. The currently listed titles are:-

  • Alien Hominid
  • Banjo Kazooie
  • Banjo Tooie
  • BattleBlock Theater
  • Borderlands
  • Defense Grid
  • Gears of War
  • Geometry Wars Evolved
  • Hexic HD
  • Jetpac Refuelled
  • Kameo
  • Mass Effect
  • N+
  • Perfect Dark
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Shadow Complex
  • Streets of Rage
  • Super Meat Boy
  • Toy Soldiers
  • Toy Soldiers: Cold War
  • Viva Pinata
  • Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

Two heavily rumoured titles are Mirror's Edge and Halo: Reach, while Bejeweled and Fallout 3 are expected to become available to play on Xbox One on November 12th. Also, Criterion have confirmed that they're working on getting Burnout Paradise up to speed, but there's no confirmation regarding how far along they are with that. Of course, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War Judgment are also expected to make the cut. As for the rest, who knows?
