@Balta666 I've found a liking to the bow staff and bear claws as I call them. Staff for range, and claws for shredding. I'll be focusing on one or the other from here on out I believe. Haven't gotten through chapter 7 yet though as I had a long dragon quest 3 play session today. I'll be diving back in tomorrow night.
I have finish the game and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I found it fairly easy on normal mode which it was a nice surprise as this is not my genre and most likely would have dropped it otherwise (don't get me wrong I like the difficulty of a Souls for example but on a more precise, no combos, gameplay).
This game does not have the thing I dislike the most about Bayonetta for example, that is the ranking system and rewards tied to it (like money) because you are punished for being bad at the game.
Lastly the second half story weapon is extremely cool!!
Playing this version for the first time since the Xbox 360 release and I am absolutely loving it. @PeaceSalad Good on you for keeping a social aspect of gaming like this game club going.
Hey guys, I would love to be added to the tag list! Really love idea of social gaming in this form and really looking forward to try Ninja Gaiden II and this club might just be the push I needed. Will have to finish Alan Wake 2 first though...
I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings
@Balta666 Excellent work on finishing mate, glad you enjoyed it. Iβve just bought a replacement controller so hopefully have a little look this week. Avowed is fast approaching though
@NintendoByNature the mines are extremely poor design π however there is kind of a cheese strategy to them (I went online after one attempt) if you do the blocking dodge movement, you detonate the mines with zero damage taken .
Can't say I got a lot of hand cramps in this one compared to games in this genre but like I said before it may be because I always kept it very simple combo wise
@Balta666 dang, wish I would've looked it up. Eh oh well, I'm past it now and I'm cruisin.. just finished chapter 13 and called it a night. Hoping to finish by Friday-ish
Rolled credits. Solid time overall. It's funny, while the game is hard, it's not as hard as I thought it would be. I played on normal btw. The only section I died multiple times on was after a back to back boss fight in chapter 17.
It was just a regular battle with normal enemeis but quite a few. It should've been a simple scrap, but i had no healing items or Ki magic available. It was a wide open arena with certain enemies shooting projectiles at you making it all the more difficult. After a solid 10 or so tries I finally beat that section and breezed through the final boss. Now I'm absolutely looking forward to NG4. Great choice for this months game.
Favorite weapons anyone? I personally utilized the bear claws ( as I call them), and the bow staff mostly. I did use the twin katanas towards the end there, though.
@NintendoByNature I have only used 2 weapons. First the sword until you get the stupidly overpowered scythe from the Lycanthrope's boss and them back to the sword for story reasons
@Balta666 I didnt think the scythe was all that great actually. Far too slow for me which is why I enjoyed the claws and staff much more. I did have to use the scythe on one boss though. I just forgot who it was.
@NintendoByNature the scythe was pretty much one hit one limb off, quickly followed by finishing move. The levels after it were a piece of cake compared to the rest of the game because of it. I just dropped it because of the sword upgrade but I was not sure it was worth it actually
I really struggled to get into Ninja Gaiden 2, I only got to the end of chapter 3 and gave up.
The game felt dated for me with the fixed camera and was too heavily reliant on button mashing, maybe that was me not being good enough to string combo's together but I didn't gel with the combat in the way I did with games like Bayonetta or DMC.
Glad for you guys that enjoyed it but it just wasn't for me.
Ah so I think its very cool that you guys are playing the game. I remeber very much when I played one version of the game a few years ago . I like have for a long time felt that Ninja Gaiden is a underappreciated title
