Listened to SO much Dinosaur Jr, Punchline, and The Wonder Years.
Seriously guys, if you enjoy pop-punk even a little, you MUST look into TWY. The Greatest Generation is one of the best albums of this year, in any genre.

Little Weapon (feat Bishop G & Nikki Jean) by Lupe Fiasco[/*]
I Won't Be Long by Beck[/*]
Say You Will by Kanye West[/*]
Purple Yellow Red & Blue by Portugal. The Man[/*]
Metroid Metal on Spotify. I'm not normally one for listening to video game tunes outside of the gaming experience, but these renditions are completely bad a**. Just listen to Prelude and try not to rock out.

I've enjoyed the Tokyo Map theme from SMT IV, Rundas boss theme from Metroid Prime Corruption, Potential for Anything from VVVVVV, Majestic Wings from KH Dream Drop Distance, & the Bionis's Leg theme from Xenoblade either in the past / lately. Great music from great games.
Anyone hear The 1975's debut album?! It's been my jam for the last two days and I am completely floored by it. Possible album of the year so far for me

I'm actually streaming it right now per your recommendation. This normally isn't my type of thing, but I'm finding it rather pleasant as a passive listening experience while I get some work done. May just grow on me!
I picked up the new Avenged Sevenfold album, and am really liking it. Well, some tracks a lot more than others. It's about 75% really superb tunes, and 25% filler, I reckon.

I haven't been able to get into Avenged since City of Evil. Is the new album more one-note hard rock, or does it have a heavy-dose of that 80's metal going on?
I've been on a skate-punk kick like crazy lately. Been listening to Frenzal Rhomb's "Smoko at the Pet Food Factory" a lot. Some Millencolin, The Offspring and Propagandhi in there, too. Desperate for something new, but 2013 seems to be a pretty meh year for music so far. For me, at least.

Definitely more 80's metal than one-note hard rock, I'd say. The title track is awesome!

Sweetness! I'll have to give it a shot then.
What are your guys Album of the Year contenders at this point? Outside of "The Greatest Generation" by The Wonder Years, I feel like there hasn't been much to hold my attention this year. Alkaline Trio and Broadway Calls released good albums, but outside of that I'm drawing a blank...
Looking forward to new Less Than Jake and Pearl Jam, though.
Listening to lots of Gaslight Anthem and Thrice today.
Love, love The Gaslight Anthem. Did you like The Horrible Crowes album too?
Thrice is one of the few bands that have "grown" with me since I started listening to them.
I've been blasting lots of Dangerous Summer and Motion City Soundtrack.
I listened to Elsie briefly but it didn't really resonate with me. I think it was simply not mood-fitting at the time. Will give it another listen today on Spotify while I get some work done.
Been blasting Biffy Clyro's "Opposites" all week, alongside (still) DJ Fresh's "Nextlevelism." Also been falling in love with R.E.M's "Collapse Into Now." Given that they're my favourite band of all time (easily), it's strange I didn't fall in love with it straight away, but it's a bit of a slow starter.
