Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Fix?

OK so my 360 just got the red ring of death when the power when out for a millisecond. It stayed on but went to the red rings. I was wondering what the best method is to do or if i just need to keep it off for a while. I am currently keeping it in the refrigerator. Is that a good idea?

Suggestion:

Alright there are a few things you can do. My best advicee is to call into xbox at 1800-4-my-xbox.
They will ask you for your console ID which is on the back of the 360 itself. If you cant find it you can go into system settings> Console settings and it will state the ID there.

Secondly they will see if it is still under warranty. If you have had it for more than three years your out of luck. If not then great. They will mail you with a shipping address that you will need to print off. After that you will need to ship it off to them for FREE repair. It usually takes about a week for them to recieve it. Then two more weeks for you to get it back.

If you xbox is no longer covered you can try this.
The xbox usually gets red rings when it is over heated ending up melting two pieces together so it will not function.
Take to thick blanket and cover the xbox. Turn it on and leave it there for a good 2-3 hours. This is so that the pieces metled together can unmelt and soothen once again.

If this works then great, but be careful next time. Maybe get a cooling pad for the 360 if you love playing for hours on end which isn't bad at all, I DO IT TOO =)

Anyway hope this helped a bit. Hope this works for you.

You know that the fridge is rather watery. Moist in the air can destroy hardware like that. Well not as long as it is on but.. when you put it on and there is moist on the circuitry you are in trouble.

Best is to send it in to MIcrosoft to actually fix it.

Use this site to fix it.

I used it and it turned out although my Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death was indeed the 3 ring, it was just an overheat. The power cord was the problem not the Xbox itself.

Hope it helps.
