Suggestion:
hey ive had my xbox 360 for a year now and had no problems, make sure it doesn't overheat like playing c.o.d 24/7 because that can cause the red ring, always clean it if it gets dusty, do not unplug it whilst playing it ,but its safe when the xbox 360 is off, if you have a xbox 360 250gb it applies to that too , hope you find this useful, and yes im a girl with an xbox 
also read the instruction manual for more info and care for the xbox, 4 hours a day are the same for me too
