Suggestion:
Ok the best method for fixing an xbox 360 is to reflow .
You can replace the original x-clamps after a reflow or you can use M5 bolts and washers instead of the x-clamps.
You will need to open the console, remove the motherboard, and remove the x-clamps. Once the clamps are removed this will exspose the chipsets, the gpu chips are on the left and cpu chip is on the right. Clean the paste off of the chips using a soft cloth and some rubbing alcohol until they are shiny.
Now the best bet is to make yourself a jig to bolt the mobo down firmly to aviod warping whilst you heat the chips.
Now i advise getting some liquid flux to pour behind the chips , but this is not essential.
Once your motherboard is bolted down nice and tight , get a heatgun and gently warm the whole motherboard using a sweeping motion. Once the mobo feels really warm , yuo now want to focus on heating up the chips. Holding the heatgun about 25mm abouve the chips heat them for about 60 seconds again using a small circular motion. Do each chipset in turn , and then gently cool the mobo buy gently blasting warm air over it for a few minutes to allow it to cool slowly.
Leave the motherboard to cool on the jog for around 30 minutes.
Now using thermal paste you need to put a grain of rice sized blob on each chip and then glently smooth over each chip.
Now replace your heatsinks.
Rebuild your console and ENJOY!
