One Ring of Death on the Xbox 360?

I was planning on buying an Xbox 360 from my friend. It's an elite xbox, the last model that came out. He said everything was working fine and then he got the one ring of death. He said that he fixed it and everything is working perfectly fine now, but im not sure weather this might happen again…and if so, will it fix. Does anybody know if it would be safe to buy, since he already fixed it, or will it happen again and just completely not work…

Suggestion:

if u have the $190 to throw around then go for it. however, i warn u of this. the RROD is not truly fixable. Its like putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound. sure it looks great on the outside and everything seems fine. but whats happening on the inside is gonna keep happening. In the case of the gunshot bleeding will still occur on the inside. In the case of that xbox, IT WILL CONTINUE TO OVERHEAT. That's the cause of 90% of RROD. The xbox usually overheats (due to continuous play and not enough ventilation), and something on the inside(usually a part of the mother board) MELTS…

Id just buy a new 1 and be done with it…u get what u pay for

I say pass but what do i know?
