My Xbox Has the Red Ring of Death, Can I Get a New One?

Can i call and xchange it? my brother use to play it all the time and he broke it and i think he took the hard drive or something after it kept red ringing. can i call the xbox company and tell them what has happend and possibly get a new one and send the old one back? i would treat it wayyy better than my brother did. plus i only want to play one game. assassins creed ******!

okay If you have a warranty maybe but I don't see microsoft being the type of people to do something as classy as replacing a malfunctioned system for free even if it is their fault that their systems are destined to red ring on everyone i've read some things about it online and a lot of people say they have ended up having to shell out $100 for repairs from microsoft only to have the system red ring short time later so if you really want to play your "game" you'll be better off probably buying a new xbox 360 but you should wait for the xbox 360 slim because its supposedly going to be a cooler system (less heat, not awesomeness) and it will include a hard drive and wifi support
I put "game" because assassins creed is the same thing over and over again once you've done any of the game you've pretty much done the whole game cause its just repeatedly doing the same thing over and over again…. if you don't plan on getting any other games I don't think its worth it but thats just my opinion
