Why is My Xbox Live Connection So Bad?

Ok, so i have my xbox 360 elite set up in my room upstairs with a wireless adapter, so whenever i run a connection test, it always tells me i have full bars and everything is perfect but when i play halo or cod i take one step and then it lags me back to the same spot… I always have 1 bar connections in game. My ps3 and pc are all right next to the xbox as well and run perfectly on the same internet. I have tried to open my nat and im pretty sure it is open, but something isnt right here… I have a linksys WRVS4400Nv2 router.

Suggestion:

Try to do something else and if that doesn't work, maybe the network adapter could be blamed.
