How Do You Set Up Xbox Live?

I don't mean to sound stupid, but I want to get a 360 and was wondering do you need to connect a 360 directly to a router with a cord? Or is it wireless?

You can do either a hard-wired connection, or wireless, though you will probably experience more lag with wireless than you would with a hard-wired connection. The guy above is right though, the wireless adapter is like $97 or so which when compared to the $15-20 that you would spend for a CAT6 cable is better in my opinion. Once you have the internet situation figured out, you can set it up via your XBOX desktop or online through the XBOX Live website. Hope I helped.

well to set it up you would need wire or wireless connection and i use wireless and my connection got laggy at first but now it is much better and buying the adaptor would cost $100 and it also matters by what connection your using.then connect it to the router on to computer and then the xbox so thats all you need to do.
or call microsoft to help if you have trouble with the setup

the xbox 360 isn't wireless. you'd either need to wire it to the router, or get a wireless adapter for like $20. Here's the xbox site for how to set it up: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/xboxlive/getconnected/hcxl/getstarted.aspx

you can buy a wireless adaptor, but i think it's around 100 dollars. i'd just go for a solid connection. it's usually faster, especially if you don't have great internet.
