How Do I Set Up My Xbox 360 to Xbox Live? 10 Pts.?

Can somebody please give me a step by step guide as to how i set up my xbox 360 to the xbox live, i have been trying but there is an error when i put in my ip address………should i be using a different one from the one i use to my laptop? Thanks.

it depends if you are using a wireless adapter or an ethernet cable. so plug your ethernet cord into the back of your xbox 360 and then plug it into your internet modem. then go to connect to xbox live and it was say searching for connections if i remember right. after that you just select one. and it should work. otherwise if you have wireless adapter, slap it on the back, fire up your xbox it should detect it and then pick your network it shouldn't be to hard. hope this helps

Erm I'm not very… good at this but you should just set your IP Address as automatic and it should connect to your lapotop of they're linked on the router and modem.
