No. The 360 and the internet has to be on the same network(internet).
Yeah I do it all the time. Just to go windows media player then allow 360 to stream.
Yes, load up windows media player and allow the PC to share items with your 360. Please tell me you're not using dial up, as I had used that to get on Xbox Live. Now I got broadband, helps a lot.
As for your ethernet cable, you would need a crossover cable.. Difference between a straight & crossover cable is the ends. If both ends are identical, that a straight cable; ends are different, that's a crossover cable. Confusing? Talk to a computer tech about this.
