Can I Set Up a Media Server from My Pc to My Xbox 360 Without Internet?

Is it possible to connect an ethernet cable from my pc to my 360 and watch videos, listen to music, etc.. that is on my pc? My internet connection is too slow to connect to xbox live or anything so I was wondering how and if it was possible to set up a media center extender through ethernet without use of internet. thanks.

Suggestion:

All you need is a little program call TVersity:

I use it all the time. It works a whole lot better then the built in windows media centre.

No. The 360 and the internet has to be on the same network(internet).

Yeah I do it all the time. Just to go windows media player then allow 360 to stream.

Yes, load up windows media player and allow the PC to share items with your 360. Please tell me you're not using dial up, as I had used that to get on Xbox Live. Now I got broadband, helps a lot.

As for your ethernet cable, you would need a crossover cable.. Difference between a straight & crossover cable is the ends. If both ends are identical, that a straight cable; ends are different, that's a crossover cable. Confusing? Talk to a computer tech about this.
