How Do You Connect an Xbox 360 to a Network?

I've tried a lot of things but on the xbox there's a red X between the xbox image and the network image. Help?

Suggestion:

It seems that your wired connection (ethernet cable) or your wireless Xbox Adapter is faulty. You should try to change your ethernet cable and then restart test and try trouble shooting at Xbox Support online. Can you be more specific with your specific problem? Click on more info in your test when it fails and add it to additional details here, I will help you in the comments section afterwards.

I would get the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WD0PIA?ie=UTF8&tag=howtobecafir-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002WD0PIA , the latest one. This adapter works on A/B/G & N Networks and is about the same price of the older one. I like to use the Microsoft brands because they connect eaiser.

If u can get to xbox live but home networking then open media sharing on your computer.

if u cant get to xbox live try connect with cable and use different port on router.
