Do I Need a Cooling System for My Xbox?

OK, i recently sent in my xbox 360 into microsoft to have the Red ring of death fixed. I believe its the new model with the new chips and all. SO, my question is, should i buy an intercooler for my system. Will that help me out in the long run? And also if there are any major flaws with the intercooler? Thanks!

Suggestion:

Nah. Don't bother. RROD is usually due to hardware failure/malfunction due to developmental flaws, which you can't help.
Although, you can sometimes melt your GPU/CPU if it overheats, but that problem is easily taken care of. You don't need to waste money on a fan or anything. Just clean the dust out of your 360. Take off the plastic coverings and use one of those big blush make-up brushes (or some other brush with soft bristles) to brush out the dust from the vents and boards and everything. Then you can use a vacuum to suck it up, making sure there aren't any loose pieces or screws anywhere. Check out a vid on youtube if you want to see how to open up your xbox.

I used to need a fan to keep my xbox running, otherwise it'd overheat. Then it progressively worsened to the point where it just wouldn't stay on for longer than a few minutes cause it got real hot real fast. And now it's fine, so there's a smaller chance that the hardware will fry.

Unless you plan on playing Xbox for the next 20 years, i wouldn't. Just try to keep your Xbox in a well ventilated area. Give it some space.

It won't help you out in the long run. In fact it'll do just the opposite. You are adding a greater load on your system that was not intended by Microsoft and the cooling system is usually installed over the cooling fans already built in to the Xbox 360 which will cause damage to the fans in the long run which will cause overheating issues and possibly another RRoD.

The best thing to do with the Xbox is to keep it in an open and well-ventilated area (don't keep it inside anything) and it should be working just fine.
