There seems to be a lot of games being reviewed these days that have somehow slipped under my radar, and this one actually sounds like its worth a look. I still find It hard that we just have to "accept" poor detection by kinect but I guess we should accept that its not going to get any better perhaps until kinect 2! Anyway I'll give this one a go.

I'm sure its a good game but the kinect features are so lame! How is shouting stupid commands going to ever be better than an instant button tap. I hope ms don't feel the need to include kinect in EVERYTHING they do from now on; its really not good enough to warrant it!

An xbox with no optical drive OR hard drive wow that sounds even more limiting than a netbook...is this really the way the world Is going?!
The new xbox HAS to have a harddrive and ms needs to swallow their pride and integrate bluray too.

The thing about pcs is generally you sit close to them with a keyboard and mouse - I'm not sure what ms is anticipating but I cant really see peopke flocking to get a kinect for their pc? Sure theres been some interesting hacks and stuff, but if kinect struggles to be a useful standalone alternative to a joypad, what chance does it have replacing a keyboard and mouse?! I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Agree with the guy above, its a disgrace. I wouldn't be happy about having to pay out for a kinect 1.1 on xbox either though, they should have kept its processing power onboard and sucked up any losses in profits by selling more, better games for a kinect that really works.

What's this new wonderful dashboard I've heard a couple of people mention now...am I missing something? I'm still using the same kinect dashboard which still won't even let me access kinect demos or arcade games so Is pretty useless..as for voice commands I tend to still use my hands for some reason. Talking of which anyone played halo ce...I don't get why voice commands for throwing a grenade is better than the Instant pressing on the button of the controller in your hand? It feels like ms is forcing kinect in where Its really not needed now.

I struggle to find much positive to say about kinect, I find myself constantly getting my hopes up only to be dissapointed by poor games rightly getting poor reviews. I'm not sure how much blame is with the developers and how much is with the hardware limiting what can be achieved. I know kinect sports 2 got a good review here but the majority of reviews thought it was at best, average, with some very iffy control moments. The first game was good fun (for a while) but does anyone find longetivity non existant with kinect titles in general? If a microsoft owned development company can only produce so-so titles what hope is there for the rest of the developers?
I am also on the fence a bit about dance central 2, i do find it fun (though preferred the track list of the first title) but I am not convinced it is accurate like so many seem to claim...where is the proof? The dancers on stage dance whatever you are doing they are just animated its not 1-1 motion control or even close and I know for a fact I'm getting "flawless" grades when doing things fairly wrong and getting no grade at all when im pretty sure im doing things right!
As for the camera yes this is a big dissapointment in this day and age. Anyone who has played yoostar 2 will agree...could have been a great fun game but its totally killed by the terrible resolution of the camera.
I may be a pessimist but I seriously don't think we will ever see a A+ title for kinect purely because of the hardware limitations. I am not sure anything can be done about that now. I'll still look out with anticipation for what next year has to hold but I think we've reached the limit of kinects abilities, it will never be able to track 100% of the time, it will certainly never manage accurate tracking of fast actions, and with no peripherals the games themselves will be extremely limited before they even get started!

Oh, and I came back to say, despite this reviews low score, the peripheral has to be the future if kinect is to improve imho. Shame I don't suppose any developers can or will use this gun within their games but it surely has potential if the game is done right.

@pellissier I can't argue with your comments and yes I do own the gunstringer and child of Eden along with 10+ other kinect games, but honestly after a few plays I was bored of them all. The gunstringer is arguably the best use of kinect so far but even then its on rails. But I do agree with what you said, I just don't agree the overall hit or miss in ALL games Is anything but the hardware at fault. Ms shouldn't have cut out kinects internal processing, Id have paid more for a system that REALLY worked 99.99% of the time.

1 last point...the Dance central games are a lot of fun but note the fact that you don't really control the character as such its just animations and it just roughly tracks what youre doing, how well I dont know because sometimes I get flawless when I know I'm going it wrong and other times I can't get It to pick up what I think Is right. I do question how accurate it is and think it just works because its hidden behind premade animated characters moving. Kinect seems to be more of an occasional bit of fun at a party or rare bit of exercise when the weather is bad. Its certainly not even come close to living up to the excitement and hype before its launch. Shame.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with teamdoa sadly. It is something Ive been thinking for a while, and it's not just this game, its pretty much every game. Even the very best kinect titles are riddled with control problems that we would not accept in a game using a joypad. Even kinect sports 2 which surely has to be a benchmark is full of problems and got some poor reviews from most sites. I don't think there will ever be a truly remarkable and long-lasting kinect game and it is most definitely the hardware limiting things not the developers. Until the next lackluster review!...

Still can't make my mind up on kinect. Playing the tennis on kinect sports season 2 sort of sums it up...it had potential but just misses out with some highly questionable detection. Seems a year on things haven't improved nearly as much as Microsoft wants us to think, if that's the best kinect can offer.

Great review, my problem is that GameSpot only gave this 6.5/10 and their reviewer seemed to find almost the opposite saying the football is woeful, the darts is a joke and the skiing is the best part of the game!! Think I may rent to begin with. I get the feeling GameSpot don't have their Kinect set-up properly sometimes!

Gfx look really good which makes it all the sadder that this isn't going to sell...I can't work out why they thought this would be a good idea, who is going to want to stand on the spot spinning their arms around? That said I'll be interested to see how it reviews.

Kinect will suffer these problems forever. Microsoft removing kinects hardware for cheaper software processing will surely haunt them forever...except us poor suckers went and bought one anyway so I doubt they care!

Hi there...here's the link

http://gamerfitnation.com/ufc-personal-trainer-xbox-360-review/

Also some review scores on Gamespot, again. Very very high..oddly though a couple of user reviewers gave it 2.5/10 saying it freezes constantly...possibly just ps3 fanboys I don't know!

http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/ufc-personal-trainer/review.html?mode=web&tag=scoresummary%3Bcritic-score

What dissapointed me was reading in most the reviews that it doesn't actually track you or respond well (lag) but they still gave it a high store...just a shame its yet another fitness game, even if it really is as good as the scores suggest.

Is there a person alive who actually WANTS adverts on their kinect? What on earth is Microsoft playing at we pay money for live and it should therefore he ad free, being "interactive" makes no odds whos going to share an advert on Twitter for christs sake?!

Further to my point above think about the xbox dashboard voice control, its not that reliable and its slow and picks up wrong words sometimes....doesn't this prove its software not hardware that makes the difference? hopefully mass effect 3 will be good but im not sure its anything to do with kinect that a normal mic can't do.

If all kinects processing is done in xbox as I think it is surely it is just a microphone for mass effect and any would work. The game and xbox process it all not kinect I think?
As for my moment of e3 I'm not sure there is one, nothing new really announced or anything amazing shown sadly.

Reading the description on one of their vids it says the 3d sensor is integrated into the tv so I guess a dismantled kinect. Clever stuff though and assuming the kinect hasn't been modified proof it could be a lot more sensitive than we've seen ( I think some of their other vids show this off better than the car one there.)
