If you’re looking to level a Mage, its a good idea to first have a good handle on what exactly the Mage class is all about and what to expect.
The Mage is a staple to any MMORPG, they are a ranged class that deals heavy damage from a distance but are very weak and mana dependent. They do have a lot of fun spells though like polymorph, which turns enemies into sheep, the ability to summon temporary water elementals and conjure up food and water.
With that out of the way, lets get into how to level a Mage. Basically, when you start out, you have the option to become a fire or frost Mage. For pure leveling speed, you want to go frost.
In the early levels, you’ll basically be casting Frostbolt over and over again until the enemy is right up in front of you, at which point you’ll finish with a Cone of Cold or your wand. This will take you up to level 40 without a hitch.
After that though, you’re going to want to change over to something more like casting Frostbolt multiple times, then casting Ice Nova and finishing with one last Frostbolt. That will get you through to level 60.
From level 60 to 80 things will get a bit more complicated. You will begin by casting Ice Barrier then cast Summon Water Elemental and have him attack the enemy. After that, just Frostbolt the enemy again, cast Cone of Cold and finish with an Ice Lance.
That’s about all you need to know to get yourself up to level 80. You can go down the fire tree instead if you wanted, however keep in mind it’s not as fast.
If you’ve had a look at all this info and still have questions on how to level a Mage, it’s probably best you find a guide that is more lengthy.
