As it turns out, Blizzard has decided to add some “fun” or “flavor” items for the guilds that have a raid member wearing Shadowmourne when killing The Lich King. These items have little to no use apart from the aesthetic purpose and will in no way change the game experience for the players who have them as they have no statistics or bonuses. What these items have is *cool* written all over them and I’m sure many players will want to eventually get one just for the fun. Here is how players can get one of these rewards and what the rewards are.
You will obviously need an Icecrown Citadel raid group, and a member of the raid group wearing the legendary axe Shadowmourne. When you kill the Lich King with a player wearing Shadowmourne in the raid, you will get an additional item – Unsealed Chest. You take this chest to Darion and he will open it up for you and you will receive 5 items which you can take to their respective owners to get your rewards as follows:
Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger – This item will give you a brand new mount that looks like the Death Knight’s class mount.
Muradin’s Favor – A 10-minute Frost Dwarf transformation item (looking cool and being a dwarf at the same time is something that is a must see).
Jaina’s Locket – A portal to Dalaran on a 1-hour cooldown, you finally have your own pocket mage!
Tabard of the Lightbringer – A tabard with a very shiny on-use effect (I haven’t seen this one yet on my server, but I bet there will be people wearing it in the next reset).
Sylvanas’ Music Box – A music box that plays Lament of the Highborne.
At this point all items seem to be Bind on Equip, so we will most likely see some crazy prices on the Auction House for these items if some of the top guilds on the servers decide to sell them instead of distributing amongst their raid members.
