Brynner gives the acting job of a generation, and was rewarded with an Oscar reconstructing his Broadway role. Kerr is charming and her harmonizing voice was dubbed by Marni Nixon. Melodies contain “Hello, Youthful Lovers,” “Getting to Know You,” “Shall We Dance.” Cast includes Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner, Rita Moreno, Martin Benson, Terry Saunders, Rex Thompson, and Alan Mowbray. Rocky Balboa: Title personality, now a 6O-ish widower and eatery owner who’s disassociated from his business yuppie child (Ventimiglia), plans to re-enter the ring one last time to battle the present heavyweight Champ. Not as poor as it may have been, even though it strains credibility; contrived, to be certain, although additionally curiously admiring. A number of ESPN-type Television identities appear as their selves. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Burt Youthful, Milo Ventimiglia, Geraldine Hughes, James Francis Kelly Sick, Tony Burton, A. J. Benza, Henry G. Sanders, and Antonio Tarver. (102 minutes, 2006)
Lilo and Stitch: Forlorn Hawaiian gal being brought up by her older sibling finds a doubtful buddy at the dog pound an alien whom she names Sew. In the mean time, ambassadors from Sew’s world have arrived in this world to recover the damaging little creature. Gorgeous watercolor surroundings are simply spectacular. Cast includes Voices of Daveigh Pursue, Christopher Michael Sanders, Tia Carrere, Kevin McDonald, Ving Rhames, David Ogden Stiers, Zoe Caldwell, Jason Scott Lee, and Kevin Michael Richardson. Defiance: Abrasive little film in reference to rootless blue-collar hermit Vincent, who tries to match up his dying kid’s bone marrow on his own. He then tames a ferocious N.Y.C. road gang. Cast includes Jan-Michael Vincent, Craft Camey, Theresa Saldana, and Danny Aiello. (102 minutes, 1980)
Buck Privates: Un-contemporary although engaging Army opus with Bud and Lou inadvertently registering. Brassy melodies (containing Andrews Sister’s “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”) and subplots get in the way, however A&C’s regimens are amid their best; their first featuring film. Cast includes Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lee Bowman, Alan Curtis, The Andrews Siblings, Jane Frazee, Nat Pendleton, and Shemp Howard. (84 minutes, 1941)
Thieves like Us: 3 black sheep flee from jail in 1930s south and go on a binge. The youngest (Carradine) falls in love with an easy, ignorant gal (Duvall). In spite of recognizable trappings, Altman digs deeply into period environment and hefty characterizations. This film gets more superior every time you watch it. Cast includes Keith Carradine, Shelley Duvall, John Schuck, Bert Remsen, Louise Fletcher, Ann Latham, and Tom Skerritt. (123 minutes, 1987)
The Seniors: 4 collegians open a fake sex hospital, which mushrooms into a multi million dollar business. The movie is alternately stupid and sarcastic, with some harmless nudity thrown in. Cast includes Jeffrey Byron, Gary Imhof, Dennis Quaid, Lou Richards, PrisciIla Barnes, Alan Reed, Edward Andrews, Robert Emhardl, and Alan Hewitt. (87 minutes, 1978)
Track of the Cat: Tennessee Williams meets American mid evil in this unusually abrasive drama in regards to a home filled with bitterness, remorse, and envy, and how the search for a killer cougar changes the dynamics of the family. Cast includes Teresa Wright, Tab Hunter, Diana Lynn, Beulah Bondi, Philip Tonge, William Basket, and Carl (Alfalfa) Switzer. (102 minutes, 1954)
