Neon Shooting Happy Time Is Back - Geometry Wars 3 Is Now Confirmed for Xbox One, Xbox 360

Shaping up nicely

Earlier in the week, we ran a report stating that the re-animated Sierra brand would be publishing the next Geometry Wars title for Lucid Games, but that platforms were as yet unconfirmed.

Well, here's your confirmation. Geometry Ward 3: Dimensions is coming to both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and looks to be shaping up nicely.

Competitive multiplayer and co-operative play are on the cards

Players will be able to engage in competitive multiplayer and co-operative play, as well as a 50-grid campaign mode that will feature boss battles. The game still plays in two dimensions, but the grids will feature three-dimensional surfaces. From the screenshots we've got (check them out below) we can see a cylinder surface and a cube, and there will undoubtedly be more than those two. There's a bigger variety of enemies, more super attacks, and stages featuring walls that change on-the-fly. You'll also see if your friend has beaten your high score right on the grid map, as any stage you're losing at will turn red as an indicator. Handy!

Classic gameplay modes will make a return too of course, on top of all this new good stuff.

We're still waiting on a date, but Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is on the way for sure.

The 3D stuff reminds me of Nano Assault Neo, which I love. Honestly cannot wait for this.
