What's Out This Week: June 10th (North America)

Posted by Anthony Bacchus

The releases don't stop during E3 week

So you're browsing your local retailer's Xbox One and Xbox 360 section and have no idea what new games were released this week. No one seems willing to help and you feel alone and scared. Surely, there must be a way — an easy way — to get the info on the latest releases. Rest your worried head young Spartan, because at pX we got you covered on what's hitting retail stores and the Games Store.

Enemy Front (Xbox 360)

Oh hello, Enemy Front. Looks like you have finally seen the light of day after a series of delays. We sure would like to play you right now but we're a little caught up with something called E3. You sure look pretty though, what with that advanced CryEngine 3 — and that budget price is really appealing too. It's kind of a shame, however, that you've chosen to set your game in World War II. We've played enough war shooters during last generation so hopefully you can forgive us for not jumping in front of the enemy lines to play you. Could you please come back when we're less busy? Thanks, that would be great.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Xbox 360)

Get ready to train your again...again. Obviously based on the sequel to the popular kids film, this movie tie-in will let players participate in a bunch of challenges all revolving around dragons. You'll be able to choose from a series of dragons and train them in dragon school so they can be the best dragon a dragon could possibly be. Also, dragons!

| Publisher: Little Orbit | Developer: Torus Games | Release Date: June 10th | Cost: $39.99 |

1,001 Spikes (Xbox One)

With a name like 1,001 Spikes you can surely bet spikes will be in it. You can also bet that this game isn't simply a walk in the park. Having already been released on other platforms, Xbox One owners can now experience the hardcore, brutal difficulty of this 2D platformer. For all you masochists out there, don't pass this one up.

| Publisher: Nicalis | Developer: 8bits Fanatics | Release Date: June 10th | Cost: $14.99 |

Blood of the Werewolf (XBLA)

Get ready for a game that really bites! Described as a love letter to classic platformers, you play as Selena — a loving mother and wife who has the ability to transform into a werewolf. She's ready for revenge after the deaths of her husband and son, and will stop at nothing until those responsible are finished. This one sounds pretty cool, and we like the idea of a female lead being the one taking their revenge this time around.

| Publisher: Midnight City | Developer: Scientifically Proven | Release Date: June 11th | Cost: $6.99 |

It's been a whirlwind of news this week thanks to the explosive announcements coming from E3. We've only just had enough time to catch a breather but once things slow down we're definitely looking forward to sitting back and relaxing with some Enemy Front and 1,000 Spikes. Are any of this week's releases worth your time this week?
