E3 2014: You'll Be Playing The Halo 5 Beta Right Before the Year Ends

Are you ready?

One of the bigger announcements at Microsoft's E3 media briefing was the confirmation that Halo: The Master Chief Collection was in fact real, and that it will be released on November 11th. While we can understand the appeal of having updated ports of Halo's 1 through 4 on Xbox One, we were also excited about the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta being included in every copy.

We were given a vague December release window for the beta during the announcement — and a short-but-sweet trailer which can be seen below — but now we can confirm that fans can suit up in Spartan armour on December 27th to be exact.

The multiplayer beta will boast "60fps on dedicated servers," and will have "new spartan abilities."

Also included in the Master Chief bundle is Halo: Nightfall, a digital video series we haven't seen or heard much about. Halo 2 will be getting the Anniversary treatment, similar to what 343 Industries did with Halo: Combat Evolved.

@MinecraftGreek the Halo collection will run at 60fps and 1080p, that was confirmed on stage on Monday. Nothing has been said about the resolution or framerate for Halo 5. I would assume that Microsoft will push for 1080p60

@Anthinator This very article says, '' The multiplayer beta will boast "60fps on dedicated servers," and will have "new spartan abilities." '' So we know something, but I think they woudl have said 1080P if it was going to be that.
