16-bit Love Letter is Skipping 360
Pier Solar HD the first new commercially available Sega Megadrive/Genesis title to be created this century, is heading to the Xbox One via Xbox Live Arcade.
The game, which raised $231,000 during a successful Kickstarter campaign last year is an RPG that was originally designed as a homebrew-style release for Sega's great 16-bit machine. After breaking through several stretch goal targets though, the initial plan for a HD version was upscaled to include releases for the Wii U, PS3, PS4, Ouya, Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and even the Sega Dreamcast. The Xbox 360 was originally targeted also, but that appears to not be the case anymore, with developer WaterMelon Games releasing a new trailer and confirming that the title is headed to the Xbox One instead.
The Megadrive version of the title was released in 2010, and we're hearing on the grapevine that it should be available from April for the Xbox One. We'll keep you posted. Until then, check out a trailer that has got our retro-loving hearts a-racing.
