Hear developers talk about their experiences with ID@Xbox
ID@Xbox is shaping up to be an excellent new program for independent game developers to self publish their games on Microsoft platforms. While there may be some uncertain rumblings about release parity out in the wild, it's clear from this video preview that some indie devs are stoked to develop for Xbox One.
Last week we got a list of 25 confirmed games coming to Xbox One through ID@Xbox, and today we're treated to a closer look at five of them, each spouting a unique mechanic that shows why Microsoft is taking an active interest in indie games this console generation.
These games are:
Super Time Force from Capybara Games - an action-platformer with a "time-travelling twist." This one has been a long-time coming. We can't wait to give it a spin.
Strike Suit Zero from Born Ready Games - a space combat game that shifts from first-person to third-person.
It Draws a Red Box from Other Ocean - Remember how a single Xbox One can have eight controllers synced up at once? We forgot too, but this game may actually be worth buying a few extra controllers.
Spectra: 8bit Racing from Gateway Interactive - We won't be seeing a new F-Zero anytime soon, so this one might just have what it takes to fill that void.
FRU from Through Games - A game that uses the Kinect and the controller in a very interesting way.
Other announced games include Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition, CastleStorm, and Riptide GP2. Are there any other games from the list you can't wait to play?
