Games With Gold Unlocks Hitman: Absolution for April

Posted by Anthony Bacchus

Arcade game still unannounced

We hope this isn't just some build up for April Fools, but if a recent tweet from Worth Playing is to believed then Square Enix's Hitman: Absolution is going free on April 1st as part of Microsoft's Games With Gold program.

Microsoft has yet to confirm the two free titles for April, but the folks over at Worth Playing were right on the money when they revealed March's games ahead of an official announcement.

Hitman: Absolution was released in November of 2012 and received a very positive reception from critics as well as fans alike. We generally don't like to bring up PlayStation Plus details here but it should be noted that Sony already made the latest Hitman free in August of last year as part of their Instant Game Collection.

Games With Gold has lately been under some criticism for not being up to par to Sony's PS Plus membership but Microsoft Studio's head Phil Spencer has said that improvements are being made to the program.

Sweet! Never played the game, so cant wait to play it :-)

As for the Xbox Live vs PS Plus thing, the only difference I see between them is PS Plus is basicly letting you rent the game as long as you have PS Plus, Xbox Live is letting you have the game, so when the online features of the systems eventually no longer exist, PS people will have abunch of games that dont work while xbox fans will still be able to play theirs. Both services are great in their own ways, but Xbox still has the edge with online multiplayer imho.
